Landing in Venice Italy, 2019
LIPV – Lido Airport, Venice Italy. August 2019
As part of my (Flying Ed) 2019 European trip in Maliee I was fortunate to land at the historic grass runway of Lido Airport (LIPV), in Venice Italy.
According to the airport manager Maliee was the first Thai registered aircraft to ever land there.
Here is a video of the landing. The grass runway is approximately 800M long.
A short water taxi trip from Lido Airport, the unique splendor of Venice is laid bare.
After Venice, as part of my European music festival tour, I attended the 2019 Tomorrowland Music Festival in Belgium.
Enroute, the Antwerp approach controller kindly offered to let me circle over the festival grounds before landing at Antwerp Airport (EBAW), which was very special.
Rain and cold temperatures were the only anticlimax after the tropical heat...
The Tomorrowland Festival was excellent fun. The crowds were massive.
I also stopped off in Dubrovnik (LDDU), Croatia where Game of Thrones was partly filmed.
